Is MEDERMA® hypoallergenic?

Does MEDERMA® contain paraffin?

Do any of the MEDERMA® products contain Aloe Vera?

No all. The MEDERMA® range does not contain Aloe Vera except for PM Intensive Overnight Cream.

Do all the MEDERMA® products contain Silicone?

MEDERMA® PM Intensive Overnight Cream contains Silicone. However, MEDERMA® Advanced Scar Gel and MEDERMA® for Kids do not contain silicone.

Is the lecithin in MEDERMA® soy or sunflower based?

The MEDERMA® Advanced Scar Gel formula does contain lecithin and it is soy based.

Do any of the MEDERMA® products contain nuts or latex?

Although the ingredients in MEDERMA® do not contain nuts or latex, we cannot guarantee that the ingredients have not come in contact with them or their by-products at the manufacturing facility. Therefore, we cannot absolutely guarantee MEDERMA® to be free of nuts and latex.

Does MEDERMA® contain titanium dioxide?

MEDERMA® products do not contain titanium dioxide.

How do you define an old scar and a new scar?

Generally, a new scar is one that is less than 12 months old. Any scar older than 12 months can be considered an old scar.

Does MEDERMA® work on a diverse array of skin colours and tones?

Can I use MEDERMA® Advanced Scar Gel when I go out in the sun?

Mederma® Advanced Scar Gel does not contain sunscreen. It is important to protect all skin from the sun’s rays, but it is especially important to protect skin that is scarred or damaged from sun exposure. Using sunscreen on scars is important because the sun’s rays can discolour scar tissue. We recommend using a separate sunscreen in addition to Mederma® Advanced Scar Gel on your scars, providing you follow the directions listed on the package for sunscreen.

Does Mederma® Advanced gel work on old scars?

Mederma® Advanced Scar Gel is for the use on old and new scars resulting from surgery, burns, acne and other injuries.
